Lori began at Queens University in September 2022. Previously she was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Morningside University in Iowa, where she was directly responsible for training men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse, cross country, and track and field throwers. She also worked with the 2021 National Champion football team, the 2021 GPAC conference women’s basketball team, men’s basketball, softball, and volleyball. She worked with teams on the field and on the court with conditioning, change of direction, and speed training.
Prior to Morningside, Lori was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and was directly responsible for the men’s and women’s tennis teams, and assisted with the other 19 sports. The women’s tennis team finished the season with their highest regional ranking to date. Lori also completed an internship at California State University in Sacramento (Sac State), where she worked with football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball.
She has 4 years of experience working in a physical therapy clinic, primarily with athletes, and uses this training when working with injured athletes, and especially to train athletes to reduce the risk of injury. She sees injury prevention as one of the most important aspects of being a sports performance coach.
Lori has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in applied exercise science with a strength and conditioning concentration from Concordia University Chicago. She is a CSCS through the NSCA and CPT through NASM.
She was born and raised in Northern California and lived in Nashville, TN for 12 years. She loves the South and warm weather and spending time with her family.
Andrew Lankarge joined the Queens University of Charlotte Sports Performance staff in July 2024 as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach. Lankarge is responsible for the Royals field hockey, women's tennis, and men's and women's lacrosse programs. Prior to Queens, Andrew spent three years as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina, serving as the primary strength coach for the Bearcats baseball, softball, men's and women's rugby, and men's and women's soccer teams.
Before his time at Lander, Andrew spent the 2021 spring semester as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Muhlenberg College working with nine athletic programs. Lankarge also served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Ithaca College where he primarily worked with men's and women's swimming and diving, baseball, and softball.
Lankarge has completed Sports Performance internships at both Elon University and UMass Amherst working with Olympic sports and football programs.
Lankarge graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from UMass and a Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences from Ithaca College. Lankarge is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA.
Zach Steffens joined Queens University of Charlotte as a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach in January of 2023. He is responsible for the track and field, men’s and women’s rugby, and cheer and dance programs.
Steffens comes to Queens after serving as an intern at Duke University working with the football program in 2022. Prior to working at Duke, Steffens spent a year as an intern at Cardinal Gibbons High School where he worked directly with football, men’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, women’s softball, and women’s soccer.
Steffens graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in talent and organization development from Queens. Steffens is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA. He is also Level 1 USA Weightlifting certified and CPR/AED certified.
